Solutionsurfers Romania was founded in 2013 by Dr. Petra Müller-Demary and is part of the international network of Solutionsurfers consultants, coaches, and trainers, all dedicated to bringing the Solution-Focused approach to organizations, companies, and the general public.
The team in Romania is involved in coaching and training projects using the Solution Focus method. Solutionsurfers Romania offers a wide range of services, which includes, in addition to the Solution Focus coaching training program, coaching and coaching training programs for organizations and companies, as well as individual coaching sessions. Starting in 2020, our coaching training programs are available both in-person and online and are led by:

COACHING TRAINING – ICF CERTIFICATION
Through our Coaching School, we offer intensive professional coaching training programmes. PURE Brief Coaching Training is unique in Romania and holds international accreditation in line with the latest ICF requirements for Levels 1, 2, and 3.
Structured across four modules and delivered over a total of 12 days, our coaching programme provides comprehensive training for developing professional coaching competencies and starting a career as a professional coach.
TRAINING AND CONSULTING
Another important area of our work is dedicated to coaching skills training programmes for managers and team leaders, as well as Solution Focus coaching consultancy services for organisations and companies, together with individual coaching sessions.
Individual and team coaching
We offer individual and team coaching sessions using the Solution Focus approach and Brief Coaching tools, developed through more than 25 years of practical research into the most effective ways to support rapid and lasting change.
By focusing on solutions and on what already works, this approach enables individuals and teams to move forward more quickly and effectively, achieve meaningful progress, and create more sustainable results.
A team with extensive international expertise
Originally from Germany, Petra Müller-Demary has lived in Romania since 1995. She has more than 20 years of experience in management and human resources consulting, training, and coaching.
In 2013, she founded Solutionsurfers Romania, where she and her colleagues provide services based on the PURE Brief Solution Focus approach — brief, solution-focused coaching — together with a wide range of professional development programmes. These include the ICF Level 1 and Level 2 Accredited Coaching School, individual coaching, team coaching, consulting and training, coaching programmes, and development projects for the Solutionsurfers community.
She began her coaching journey in 2003 and, after completing several coaching courses and programmes in Germany and Switzerland, became a Master Coach, Trainer, and Supervisor in Solution Focus Coaching.
She is also certified as a facilitator of Structural Systemic Constellations and has been offering workshops and individual constellation sessions for more than 15 years.
An expert in coaching and organisational development, Petra is regularly invited to speak at conferences and professional discussions in Romania and abroad. She is also a Lead Trainer for Solutionsurfers International, delivering coaching programmes across Europe. In 2019, she received the Bronze Award from the Learning Network for outstanding coaching results, as recognised by the L&D Industry Survey.
She currently works as an Executive Coach, Team Coach, and Business Consultant on international projects. Her extensive business experience enables her to work successfully as an independent consultant across a wide range of organisational contexts.
Petra is recognised for the quality of her presence, her distinctive approach, and the creativity with which she supports individuals and teams in identifying their most valuable resources, discovering effective solutions, and making progress in the shortest possible time. She has earned a strong reputation as one of Romania’s leading coaches and consultants in systemic business development.
In her free time, she enjoys travelling and experiencing Europe’s cultural diversity with the people close to her. She loves hiking in the Carpathian Mountains, swimming in the Rhine in Basel, cycling along country roads in Belgium, or sitting at a café in the shadow of Cologne Cathedral.
She strongly believes that change does not need to be difficult. The key is to recognise the right change and amplify it. She brings this perspective to every encounter, grounded in the belief that much of what we seek in life can be achieved with greater ease and joy.
She is a coach, facilitator, trainer, and consultant. She completed her training in PURE Brief Coaching Training with Solutionsurfers Romania in 2015. In 2017, she joined the Romanian team and has since been involved in both the coaching training programmes and corporate training projects.
She strongly believes in the importance of freedom and in making the most of the opportunities life offers us. These beliefs guide her in creating spaces where clients can focus on what they truly want to build in their lives and live more fully, with presence and compassion for themselves and others.
Daniela is also a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) trainer, having completed her training with the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation at the University of Oxford. As a facilitator, she works with a variety of interactive methods that combine elements of coaching, mindfulness, and reconnection with the body, including tools inspired by u.lab.
Before founding her own company in 2017, she spent over 18 years working in communications, marketing, and consulting for multinational companies, international organisations, and non-governmental organisations in Romania and abroad. These included PwC, where she worked for over eight years and, during the final three, led the Marketing, Communications, and Business Development team for Romania and South-Eastern Europe, as well as the United Nations Development Programme and the Red Cross. In these roles, she also delivered training in managerial skills development and professional services marketing.
Born in England, Ian Peatey has lived in Romania since 2009. After more than 30 years working in finance, he transitioned into training, facilitation, and coaching. He spent four years as Director of Learning and Development at PwC Poland, ten years as a partner at Telos Partners, and is now a founding partner and senior consultant at Solutionsurfers Romania.
He also worked for three years as a team coach at the Entrepreneurship Academy, is a co-founder of PowerUp Teams, and is a member of the Association for Nonviolent Communication.
Ian has worked with leaders and leadership teams across several European countries on a wide range of short and long-term projects, from strategy implementation to team development.
He has been a certified Nonviolent Communication trainer since 2008, is a mediator, and is accredited as a Solution Focus coach. Together with his wife, he founded Parents to Lovers, an initiative designed to support parents in building and maintaining a fulfilling relationship as a couple.
Ian Peatey works with individuals, couples, teams, and organisations from diverse cultural backgrounds, with a strong focus on building relationships through high-quality interpersonal communication.
He is known for his calm, empathetic approach and for his natural ability to listen with care and depth. Together with Petra Müller-Demary, he delivers Solution Focus coaching programmes, training, and business consulting across a wide range of projects.

Solutionsurfers Romania – our Community
Solutionsurfers is an international community of coaches, trainers, and consultants who are passionate about the innovative Solution Focus approach.
The Romanian community is dynamic and supportive. We organise monthly coaching practice sessions, both online and in person, and collaborate on coaching, training, and management consulting projects. Once a year, we also come together for a week-long retreat, where we put the Solution Focus approach into practice through workshops, group activities, and individual and group sessions.
